ゴーダが殺人事件を抱えています。被害者はバルサザール。誰が殺したのかを突き止めるのが、この日の午後の予定になります。

ご自分のスマートフォンで動き、ゴーダの街をそのまま盤面に使う推理ゲームです。手がかりを集め、デジタルの登場人物に質問し、暗号を破り、最後に犯人の名前を挙げます。つまり卓を囲まずに街へ持ち出したマダミスで、案内する人も、間に合わせる集合時刻も、一緒に動く団体もありません。

事件のルートは Sint-Janskerk、Stadhuis van Gouda、Museum Gouda をたどります。移動はすべて徒歩で、地点と地点のあいだも事件は動きつづけます。歩く時間そのものがゲームで、面白い場面のあいだの空白ではありません。

ゴーダのルートに何があるか

終盤には、街を見る回数と同じくらい自分のメモを見返すことになります。はじめは背景にしか見えなかった二つ三つが、最後の判断を決めます。

ゴーダでの捜査はこう進みます

こちらが歩き、事件のほうが向かってきます。地点のあいだにデジタルの登場人物が現れ、それぞれが物語の断片を一つと、謎か暗号か写真ミッションを一つ置いていきます。正解はリストから名前を消します。全体で3〜4キロ、1.5〜2時間ほど。時計は回っていないので、長いコーヒー休憩を取っても損はしません。手法はシャーロックホームズでおなじみのものです。きちんと見て、いま見たものを声に出す。

ゴーダを子連れで、友人と、チームで

子連れで。謎は八歳くらいから自分で読めます。子どもは大人が通り過ぎた壁の細部を見つけるのが得意で、暗号は結局みんなで解くことになります。美術館と教会が続いて飽きてしまったときの、ゴーダ観光の逃げ道としても使えます。

友人と。チケット1枚でスマートフォン1台、4名まで遊べるので、順番待ちで立っている人が出ません。容疑者リストをめぐって言い合うところまでが中身です。

チームで。ゴーダで複数のグループを同じ事件に送り出し、どこが先に着いたかをあとで比べてください。進行役も、押さえる会場も、全員を縛る開始時刻も要りません。だから懇親会や社員旅行の一コマとして成立します。

グループの多くは1.5〜2時間かけ、3〜4キロを歩きます。計測はしていないので、途中の長いコーヒー休憩に費用はかかりません。事件のほうが待っています。

チケット1枚、スマートフォン1台、1名から4名まで、全員合わせて19.95ユーロです。人数が多いときは2枚目を買って、二つのグループを競わせてください。

時間帯の予約は必要ですか？

予約のときに選ぶのは日付だけで、その日の好きな時間に始められます。ゴーダに集合場所はなく、ガイドも、合流すべき団体もありません。

子どもでも楽しめますか？

八歳くらいから遊べます。3〜4キロは子どもでも問題なく歩けますし、写真ミッションではたいてい子どもがいちばん速く、暗号は家族で一緒に解く部分になります。

雨が降ったらどうなりますか？

遊びたいときに遊び、止めたいときに止められます。軒下に入り、待って、また進めてください。すべて保存されていて、時計も動いていないので失うものはありません。

    This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.
