Ostende Beach
On this beach there are about seven kilometers of fine sand, over 100 meters wide in some places. People love to walk along the beach for miles. More than half of the beach is lined by a boardwalk, filled with cafes and seafood restaurants for moules-frites. The beach is divided into six different sections; the largest of which is Groot Strand at two kilometers long.
Sailboat Mercator
This sailing ship, serves as a meeting point and landmark. It is permanently moored in front of the Ostend Town Hall and is also a floating museum. It was built in Scotland and launched in 1932, used as a training ship, but also as a research vessel and ambassador of Belgium at world fairs. She became a museum ship in 1964 and gained National Heritage status in 1996.

Coast Tram
Almost the entire Belgian coast is served by a streetcar line that first opened between Ostend and Nieuwpoort in 1885. The Kusttram is now almost 70 kilometers long. And, in addition to being one of the few intercity streetcars still in operation, it is also the longest streetcar line in the world. There are 67 stops along the line, and in the peak summer period there will be a service every 10 minutes.
Real galleries
The end of the promenade turns into Koning Boudewijnpromenade when it reaches the Royal Villa. From here, for almost 400 meters, there is a majestic Doric column that was born in the early twentieth century. It was built to protect bourgeois and aristocratic visitors from the elements on their way to and from the comforts of the promenade.

Maria Hendrikapark
This must-see park, ordered to be built by Leopold II, is over 45 hectares of land outside the old city walls. Inaugurated in 1892, the park is named after his wife, Maria Hendrika of Austria. The Maria Hendrikapark was meant to be a place for walking or cycling, and has plenty of water beside the paths.
