How do I start the game?

A couple of minutes after the booking confirmation, you will receive by email your Ticket with easy intructions to start the game. Follow the steps and you are ready to play!

Here’s a brief overview of the process:
1. Download the LOQUIZ App (download it in the App Store or Google Play Store)
2. Login with username and password that you can find in your Ticket.
3. Go to the starting point specified in your Ticket.
4. From now on the game will guide you along the adventure!

I did not receive the Ticket with intructions and login for the game. What can I do?

1. The Ticket should arrive within a maximum of 5 minutes after the booking confirmation.
2. Check your spam.
3. Still can’t find it? Feel free to contact us!

When can I start the game?

Once you have your ticket, you are free to start when you want! Your credentials will remain valid for one year from the date of purchase.

I booked the game in the wrong language. What can I do to change the language?

Unfortunately it is not possible to switch the language in the game.
But no worries! You can book again the game in the correct language and ask for a refund or you can contact us and we will promptly send you the game in the right language.

I get an error while doing the login and I cannot enter the game. What can I do?

– Are you try to login on multiple devices? The number of accesses is limited to the quantity of purchased tickets.
– Did you already login in the app and you want to enter again? Then don’t fill in your details again but just click on ‘Continue last session’.

If these are not your case please contact us and we will immediately send you new username and password!

I scan the QR Code but it doesn’t work. What can I do?

The QR code provided by GetYourGuide or TripAdvisor will not give you the access to the game. Check your inbox, we have sent your ticket by email. On your ticket you will find easy instructions and your credentials to start the game!

After receiving the credentials when can I login in the game?

You can login when you prefer but we suggest to login right before playing the game. Go to the starting point, fill in you username and password and start the game!

If you want to login beforehand that’s perfectly fine. When you are ready to start, open the Loquiz app and click on ‘Continue last session’.

What is the duration of the game? Can I take breaks?

The City Games lasts about 2 hours but you do not have limit of time. You can take breaks when you want.

My discount code/voucher does not work. What can I do?

Please send by email your code to [email protected] and we will prompty send you the Ticket.

Do I necessarily have to start at the indicated start location?

Yes, the game starts at a central location in the city. This is determined so that the game can be played efficiently.

Are the City Games suitable for all ages?

In principle, the games can be played by everyone. However, some questions and tasks may be too difficult for small children. Anyhow, it may be fun for them to play along. The difficulty level differs per game and is in respective order, from low to high: Sherlock Holmes – Secrets of – The Syndicate.

Is City Game also suitable to play with kids?

Yes, any City Game can be played with children. Do you have small children? Sherlock Holmes is a fun story game with a low difficulty level.

Is there a City Game instructor at the agreed location?

No, there isn’t. So read the instructions carefully with your fellow players. The instructions will be sent to you by e-mail right after the booking.

Can I play the game at any time of the day?

Yes, you can decide what time you want to play. You play the game on your own smartphone and there is no supervisor present. You can even take a break and resume whenever you want. Play WHERE, WHEN & with WHO you want.

Can I play a game in the evening, at the weekend or on a public holiday?

Yes, a City Game can be played at any time. However, some places may be less accessible or make you feel less safe at night. In addition, the game can simply be played during a public holiday. Take note: is it, for example, King’s Day or are there festivities all over the city centre, so that almost every square is occupied? Then we recommend playing the City Game at a different time.

How long is a City Game valid?

After booking a City Game, you will receive an e-mail with all instructions and a login code. From then on, you can start the game whenever you want. The login code is valid for 1 year after the booking date.

Is a City Game also suitable for exploring a city?

We have different types of games. ‘Secrets of‘ is our discovery game and leads you around the city.

What kind of questions and assignments can I expect?

It depends on the City Game chosen. Think knowledge questions, rebuses, photo assignments, maths questions and much more. In respective order, from low to high, the difficulty level is: Sherlock Holmes – Secrets of – The Syndicate.

Are the assignments in the different cities similar?

This also depends on your chosen City Game. Secrets of is unique, it differs per city as in it you discover the secrets of your chosen city. The Syndicate has the same storyline in each city, but some missions differ. Sherlock Holmes contains the same questions in each city.

We are already familiar with the city. So are the city games still fun?

Yes indeed! You can choose from several games. Sherlock Holmes is a fun activity, using the city as a playing field, but where you don’t get any other information about the city itself. The Syndicate is a role-playing game where you interact with the city. And even with our discovery game Secrets of we will surprise you. You will get to know the city in a different way. In short, all City Games are fun to play even if you know the city like the back of your hand.

In which languages can I play City Game?

‘Sherlock Holmes‘ can be played in 6 languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. ‘Secrets of‘ is available in English, Dutch and German. ‘The Syndicate‘ is for now only available in English.

Can I play a City Game if (part of) the city centre is cordoned off?

This varies from city to city and depends on the situation. Is it a weekly market in a square, then you can play the City Games without any problems. Is a national holiday, or are there festivities all over the city centre so that almost every square is occupied? Then we recommend playing the City Game at a different time.

Can I pause the game?

You can! You can take a break whenever you want. So should you see a nice little restaurant or shop in between, you can definitely walk in there. You can start, pause & resume the game whenever you want. Do note that time just ticks by, but this is otherwise not a problem.

Can a City Game also be played with 2 people?

Yes indeed, it can be great fun for two! All tasks and questions can also be completed in pairs. Sherlock Holmes and Secrets of can even be played as little as 1 person. Only The Syndicate requires a minimum of 2 persons.

Are the City Games wheelchair-friendly?

In principle, all games are wheelchair-friendly. However, some locations may only be accessible by stairs or a steep slope.

Can I play a City Game if I have poor mobility or fitness?

While playing our City Games, you walk around the city at a good pace for about 1.5 to 2 hours. That means you will easily walk 3 to 5 kilometres. If you have trouble walking, you won’t be able to play the game to its full potential. Nevertheless, you can pause the game whenever you want. So should you want to rest, that’s no problem. You can start, pause & resume the game whenever you want. Do note that the time just ticks on, but this is otherwise not a problem.

Can I bring my dog during the games?

But of course! Your dog is more than welcome. The City Games are played outdoors.

Which app do I need?

The ‘Loquiz’ app (download it in the App Store or Google Play Store)

What should I do if my phone’s battery dies during the game?

First of all, we recommend playing the game on the team member’s phone with the longest battery life. This is often the most recent phone. If your battery runs out during the game, you can continue playing on another phone. In that case, go through the following steps:
– Leave the game on the phone about to go out.
– Log in to the new phone with your personal login details.
– Close the game info window.
– Press start.
– Do not re-enter your team name and team members, but press ‘or resume with existing team’.
– Continue the City Game on the new phone.

Note: the time you spend switching to a new phone is added to your playing time! So the time you see in the app after switching is no longer correct. However, this has no further impact on the game.

Should I use a powerbank while playing a City Game?

In principle, most recent phones with long battery life should be able to last. But if you want to be sure, we recommend bringing a power bank.

Do I need continuous internet (wifi or 4G/5G)?

Yes, you need to be constantly connected to the internet.

Can City Games be played on all types of phones?

We strongly recommend that you use a phone no older than 3 years so that the games can be played successfully.

Can I also play a City Game with an iPad or tablet?

Yes, you can! You do need to be constantly connected to the internet.

Which payment methods can I use?

You can only pay for a City Game online. The payment methods you can choose from are: iDeal, Credit card, Paypal, SOFORT Banking, Bancontact, eps, Giropay, Przelewy24, KBC/CBC Payment Button, Bank transfer and Belfius Pay Button.

Can I get an invoice?

Yes, after payment you will automatically receive the invoice in the specified e-mail.

I paid by credit card, but I received a payment reminder. Is my reservation valid?

If you pay via the credit card option, it can take up to two hours for the payment to be approved and completed. In the meantime, you may receive a payment reminder, which you can ignore. You will automatically receive a payment confirmation with all the necessary information. Have you not received this within two hours of payment? Please contact us.

Do I need to book a date/time in advance?

No you don’t have to. You can play the game whenever you want. The City Game remains valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. You may have to indicate this at various booking platforms such as Get Your Guide or Viator in order to buy a ticket. But again, after purchase, you can start the game whenever you want!

The login details are incorrect. What can I do?

That means it is already being used by another team member. If he or she closes the game, you can continue the City Game on another device using the code.

My login details are not working. What should I do?

Close the Loquiz app and open it again. Try logging in again. Does this still not work? Please contact us.

I’m in a city but the pin shows a different city. What can I do?

You most likely bought a City Game for a different city. If so, please buy new tickets for the correct city. You will receive your new login details to play the correct City Game in your e-mail within a few minutes. Then contact us and we will refund the money to your account.

My phone has trouble finding locations on the map. How come?

Probably your location is not quite accurate. You can adjust the GPS settings on your device, via location accuracy in settings.

I have lost the game instructions. What can I do?

Check our e-mail for all the information about your City Game or check the webpage of your chosen City Game.

I have not received login details. What should I do?

Check your spam inbox first. The e-mail may have ended up there. Is that not the case? If so, please contact us.

The game is not working. What could be the reason for this?

Have you downloaded the Loquiz app? If you have gone through the steps (login code/team name/participants), the game will not start until you press the start button. Have you done this? Then walk a bit and zoom out on your screen to find yourself (the blue dot) on the map. Does this not work? Please contact us.

I use an iPhone, but the pins on the map don’t work. What should I do?

Chances are you are using an outdated version of iOS or the Loquiz app. Update both to the latest version. Still not working? Your best bet is to use a different device from your team. – — Follow the steps below to continue on another device.
– Leave the game on the phone you started with.
– Log in to the other phone with your personal login details.
– Close the game info window.
– Press start.
– Do not re-enter your team name and team members, but press: ‘or resume with existing team’.
– Continue the City Game with the other smartphone.

My discount code or voucher does not work. What can I do?

Check that you have entered the correct code and that it is still valid. Is it still not working? If so, please contact us.

I want to play the game with, say, 20 people. How many teams should I make?

You buy 1 ticket per group or team. For Sherlock Holmes and Secrets of, we recommend teams of 1-4 people. For The Syndicate, this is 2-5 people. So with 20 people, you make four or five (or more) teams, depending on the City Game chosen.

If we play the game with 3 teams, how do we know who won?

We are busing working on a scoreboard where you can keep track who is the fastest!

I would like guidance with the City Game. Is that possible?

Yes. We can also provide the game including instructor(s). However, this is tailor-made and there are other costs involved. This is possible from 40 people upwards. Contact us for a tailor-made proposal.

I’m playing with several teams. Do we all start at the same time?

You can choose your own direction or start with a two minutes of difference between the teams.

Is there an element of competition?

Certainly! The goal is to score more points than the other teams. At the end of the game you can compare your scores and see who has the best score.

I bought 2 or more credits. How does that work?

Use the same login details with all devices to start the game. The number of accesses is limited to the quantity of purchased tickets. When you start the game, you can choose your own direction or start with two minutes of difference between the teams.
