The spectacular building is a modern icon of the Museumplein, and houses what is considered one of the best collections in the world, which includes 90,000 pieces from 1870 to the present. This musuem is one of our favourites! We especially love how the building looks like a giant bathtub!

The unique museum presents its visitors with an unparalleled collection of modern art that uses irony and humor to reflect on today’s society. Admiring art from a modern and contemporary perspective is one of the most sought-after experiences in Amsterdam. It’s certainly something that we love to do in the city!
Tropen museum
Tropen museum is an anthropological museum located in Amsterdam. In fact, it is one of the largest museums in the city! This museum has capacity for eight permanent exhibitions and a continuing series of temporary exhibitions, including both traditional and modern visual arts as well as photographic works. The photographic collection consists of historical photos of the Dutch colonies from 1855 to 1940. Make sure you don’t miss this one, we promise it’s well worth it!

Anne Frank museum
What was once the home of Anne Frank, has become one of the most important museums in Amsterdam. Noted for its history, which tells the story of how Anne Frank hid with her family in the attic of her house during the persecution of the Jews in the second World War. Visitors who wanted to see the hiding place started coming to the house soon after the book was published and many were shown around by the same employees who had hidden the families. This museum can be very emotional, but we can’t recommend it enough. If you are in the neighbourhood you must stop in and check it out. The lines can often be very long to get in though, so try and get there early.
