I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which game follows the imperial story?

Secrets of Pula is a browser-based puzzle walk in which you help Emperor Augustus reclaim his lost scepter. No app is needed, and up to four players share one phone. You pass the Temple of Augustus, Pula Cathedral and the Monument to the Partisans as the search unfolds. The game gives your team a reason to look around and talk through possibilities, rather than simply follow one friend through the city. Let different people read the prompts and suggest answers, so the story becomes a shared task. It can open the party day with a manageable team challenge while leaving the group’s later arrangements entirely to your own plans.

What can mystery fans choose instead?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Pula starts at the Roman Theater and continues through the old town at your own pace. The route includes Pula Cathedral, Pula Castle and the Temple of Augustus. Your team uses the free Loquiz app, with at most four players on a single phone. Choose this case when your friends prefer detective discussion to the imperial quest. One person can read while the others weigh in, and you can change that role as you walk. The small-team setup gives everyone a chance to contribute without requiring the whole party to agree on every detail. Make the rivalry friendly and enjoy the different approaches your friends bring to the investigation.

How do you organise the group walk?

Each Pula game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and bookings are valid for 12 months. Divide a larger bachelor or bachelorette group into teams of at most four, with one phone for each team. Agree on the chosen game before meeting, since the detective case needs the free Loquiz app and the imperial quest runs in a browser. Allow enough time to enjoy the walk as an activity in its own right. You do not need to invent a separate party task for each location: the selected game already gives your teammates a shared purpose as they explore together.
