I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What plans are you trying to recover?

Secrets of Valletta asks you to recover the lost plans of Jean Parisot de Valette on a self-guided exploration. These places accompany your route through the streets while the search gives your team a common objective.

The story runs in your own phone browser, with no app required. Plan around 1.5 to 2 hours. You can share the clues with everyone and compare thoughts as you go. Choose this game if you want an exploration with a specific search, connecting the city's surroundings with a task your whole group can discuss.

Where does Sherlock’s case take your team?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Valletta gives your group a detective investigation using the free Loquiz app. You see Grandmaster Palace Courtyard first, then the Fortifications Interpretation Centre and afterwards the National War Museum. These places belong to the mystery's route, separate from the search for de Valette's plans.

You use your own phone and should allow around 1.5 to 2 hours. Decide whether a murder case is the activity your group wants before starting. One player can read out clues while everyone adds ideas about the information. That keeps the story shared throughout your walk, rather than leaving the whole investigation to the person holding the phone as you go through the city together.

What does your Valletta team need to plan?

Your city game Valletta costs €19.95 per team with one phone and at most four players. The same team limit applies to both stories. Decide who is coming and choose whether you want the search for lost plans or the murder case. The task determines which route and technology you follow.

You can begin whenever you like and should reserve around 1.5 to 2 hours. Open Secrets of Valletta in your browser or use the free Loquiz app for the detective game.
