I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What does the puzzle exploration describe?

Secrets of Marrakech combines a self-guided walking tour with puzzles and photo tasks, described as leading from Bab Agnaou gate to El Badi Palace. Your city game Marrakech follows this exploration story while your team works through the tasks together. The route gives the outing a direction and the game gives you something to discuss during the walk.

You open this version in your own phone browser, without an app. Plan around 1.5 to 2 hours. Choose it if you want both puzzles and photo tasks alongside your exploration. You can share the instructions with everyone and compare ideas, keeping the activity a group conversation while moving at your own pace.

Which places feature in the detective game?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Marrakech turns your walk into a detective investigation using the free Loquiz app. The route passes the Saadian Tombs first, then Bahia Palace and afterwards Ben Youssef Mosque. These places accompany the case, which is a separate story from the browser-based puzzle tour.

You use your own phone and should allow around 1.5 to 2 hours. Decide before starting whether investigating a murder is the activity your team wants to share. One person can call up the clues and read them aloud while everyone offers thoughts about the information. That keeps the case a task for the whole group throughout your self-guided walk, rather than something only the phone holder follows.

What should you arrange before playing?

Your city game Marrakech costs €19.95 per team using one phone with at most four players. Both games have this team limit. Put your group together within that size, then choose whether you want the puzzle-and-photo tour or the detective investigation before opening the game.

You can begin whenever you like and should set aside around 1.5 to 2 hours. Secrets of Marrakech runs in your browser, while the murder mystery uses the free Loquiz app. Agree which phone your team will share and who will pass on the clues to everyone. The others can discuss ideas and notice the surroundings as you walk, connecting the selected story with a shared task for the group.
