Wir (Mein Mann, unsere 9-jährige Tochter und ich) haben heute ganz spontan das Spiel "Moordmysterie Düsseldorf" gebucht und gespielt. Die Buchung verlief schnell und reibungslos. Es hat super viel Spaß gemacht! Die Story, die Rätsel, das Konzept, die Route, die Gestaltung der App... richtig gut!!! Das Spiel würde ich vor allem Familien mit Kindern empfehlen. Für Erwachsene waren die Rätsel (meiner Meinung nach) zu einfach. Aber trotzdem wegen der schönen Route durch Düsseldorf, der Story, den lustigen Anweisungen zwischendurch eine schöne Aktion, die man zusammen machen kann.

I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Old walls and sad stories in Calvi
Calvi has a long and often hard history. The town was held by Genoa for centuries, and its citadel on the rock was built to keep attackers out. In 1794 British troops besieged Calvi, and it was there that the young Horatio Nelson was hit and lost the sight of his right eye.
One of the first stops of our game is the Monument aux Morts du Vapeur Balkan. It remembers the passengers of the steamship Balkan, sunk by a submarine in 1918, among them many people from Calvi and the area. Across Corsica old stories are also told about the mazzeri, people said to hunt in their dreams and to foresee who would die. Walk past these walls at dusk and you feel how old the town is.

Autumn evenings in a Corsican harbour town
Halloween is a recent custom in France, and in Corsica it is celebrated quietly, mostly by children in costume. The older tradition is Toussaint on 1 November, when families visit the graves of their relatives.
At the end of October Calvi is calm. The summer crowds have gone, the harbour lights come on early and the old town gets quiet once the sun sets behind the citadel. That makes it a good moment to walk the streets as a small team, read the clues together and decide who the murderer is before you sit down for dinner by the water.
