I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What dark history hides in the Castello?
The Castello quarter was built by the Pisans in the 13th and 14th centuries as a fortress above the harbour. The Torre dell'Elefante, finished in 1307 and named after the small stone elephant on its wall, guarded one of the main gates.
For centuries the tower also served a grim purpose: the heads of executed men were put on display there as a warning to anyone passing through the gate. Walk under it on a dark October evening and that story stays with you. The narrow streets around the cathedral, with their thick walls and sudden views over the sea, add to the mood.

How is Halloween celebrated in Cagliari?
Sardinia has its own old custom around this time of year. On the eve of All Saints, children in the Cagliari area traditionally go from door to door asking for gifts "for the souls", a tradition known as Is Animeddas. Sweets, dried fruit and small coins were the classic reward.
Today you also see pumpkins and costumes, and on 1 and 2 November many families visit the cemeteries. For a halloween Cagliari evening with a story, a game on foot fits well between those old and new traditions.
