I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does Osaka celebrate Halloween?
In Japan, Halloween is mostly about dressing up: costumes, themed menus and friends taking photos in the nightlife districts. Osaka is no exception, and the streets around Minami are busy with people in costume on the evenings around 31 October.
Japan also has its own ghost tradition, much older than Halloween. Stories of yurei, the restless dead, and obake, shape-shifting spirits, were told for centuries, and telling kaidan, ghost tales, is a classic way to spend a summer night. Osaka has darker history of its own as well: in 1615 the siege of Osaka Castle ended the Toyotomi clan, and the city was rebuilt as a merchant town that became famous for its food and its canals.

Where does the halloween Osaka detective route take you?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Osaka starts at Triangle Park and leads you on foot through the city, solving clues as you go. On the way you pass Dotonbori, where the canal reflects the giant signs. Local baseball fans still talk about the Colonel Sanders statue that was thrown into this canal in 1985, and the so-called curse that followed for their team.
The route also takes you to Namba Yasaka Shrine, with its huge lion-head stage that seems to swallow anyone who walks up to it, and to Kuromon Ichiba Market, the old food market of the area. After dark, with lanterns lit and the shrine courtyard quiet, the story of a murder fits the setting well.
