I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which legend does Riga tell about itself?
Riga's best-known legend is a warning. Once a year, so the story goes, a spirit rises from the Daugava and asks whether Riga is finished. If anyone ever answers yes, the whole city will sink into the river. That is why, people say, Riga is always being built.
You see that unfinished city on Secrets of Riga. You pass the Latvian Academy of Music and the Latvian National Opera, then St. Peter's Church with its tall spire and the House of the Blackheads. The House of the Blackheads was destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt decades later, a building that came back from the dead. The route ends near Riga Cathedral.

How is Halloween celebrated in Riga?
Halloween is mostly a party for young people and children in Latvia. The older autumn tradition is veļu laiks, the time of the souls, when Latvians traditionally remember the spirits of the dead in the dark weeks of the year.
That makes a halloween Riga evening calm and a bit mysterious. The Old Town is quieter than in summer, the lamps reflect on wet cobbles and the spires disappear into the dark sky. A city game lets you enjoy that mood at your own pace: you stop where you like, warm up in a café and carry on.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Riga is a detective story based on Sherlock Holmes. It starts on Doma laukums, the cathedral square, and leads past the House of the Black Heads and the Latvian National Museum of Art to the Vērmane Garden.
