I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How is Halloween celebrated in Beirut?

Halloween is celebrated in Beirut mostly with costume parties and themed nights out. Lebanon also has its own costume feast: Eid il-Burbara, the feast of Saint Barbara in December, when children dress up and go from house to house, and families make a sweet wheat dish called burbara.

The city has old legends too. Beirut is one of the places linked to the story of Saint George slaying the dragon, and the bay north of the city still carries his name. Its history is long and often dark: in the year 551 an earthquake and the waves that followed destroyed Roman Berytus and its famous law school.

What you see on the halloween Beirut route

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Beirut leads you past the Beirut Souks on Al Allenby Street and Saint George's Maronite Cathedral at Place de l'Etoile. Next comes Martyrs' Square, named after the Lebanese nationalists hanged there by the Ottoman authorities in 1916. During the civil war, from 1975 to 1990, the square lay on the Green Line that divided the city.

The case also takes you past the Lebanese Parliament at Place de l'Etoile. After dark, the stone facades and the quiet squares of downtown make it easy to imagine a crime story unfolding around you.
