I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Dark history in Bratislava's Old Town
Bratislava's Old Town has seen more than its share of drama, and much of it is still visible from the street. For almost three centuries, Hungarian kings and queens were crowned in St Martin's Cathedral, and the tall spire still carries a gilded crown on top.
On the tower of the Old Town Hall, look up and you can spot a cannonball lodged in the wall, a reminder of Napoleon's troops firing on the city in 1809. Small alleys, heavy doors and dim courtyards do the rest. On a cold evening at the end of October, when the lamps come on and the tourists thin out, these streets feel made for a story about a crime.

Halloween Bratislava: the case you solve on foot
The Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Bratislava turns a walk through the centre into a detective story. The game starts near Stará radnica, the Old Town Hall on Hlavné námestie, and leads you past the memorial stone for singer Karol Kryl, across Freedom Square and along the old Mestská sporiteľňa building before the trail ends at St Martin's Cathedral.
At every stop you find clues, question witnesses and solve puzzles that bring you closer to the culprit. You play in the free Loquiz app on your own phone, as a team of at most 4 players. The route takes 1.5 to 2 hours, and you start whenever you like, every day. It suits friends, couples, families with older children and colleagues.
How Halloween is celebrated in Slovakia
Halloween is a fairly new arrival in Slovakia. You will see carved pumpkins in shop windows and costume parties in bars, mostly among younger people and students. The older tradition sits right next to it: on 1 November, All Saints' Day, and on 2 November, the day of the dead, families visit graves and light candles, and cemeteries glow in the dark.
That mix of fun and remembrance gives the end of October a special mood in Bratislava. A detective game fits in nicely: it is a little eerie, it takes you outside into the autumn air, and nobody needs a costume. Our ghost game Ghost Hunters is coming to Bratislava as well. Leave your e-mail address on this page and we will let you know when it starts.
