I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Rebels, kings and dark history in Örebro
Örebro is an old city with a dramatic past. In the 1430s the rebel leader Engelbrekt led a revolt against the union king, and in 1436 he was murdered on a small island in the lake Hjälmaren, not far from the city. The reformer Olaus Petri was born here, and the church on the route bears his name.
In 1810 the Swedish parliament met in Örebro and chose the French marshal Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte as heir to the throne. Halloween has become popular in Sweden, with costumes and parties, while the older custom is to light candles on graves on All Saints' Day weekend. In the dark, the castle mirrored in the river looks like the set of a mystery.

Halloween Orebro: what you see on the route
The Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Orebro is a detective story based on Sherlock Holmes, played on foot in the free Loquiz app. You gather clues, answer questions and work out who did it.
You pass Olaus Petri kyrka and walk to Örebro Castle, the stone fortress standing in the middle of the Svartån. From there the route leads along the river to Wadköping, an area of old wooden houses and narrow lanes that feels a world away from the busy centre. On a dark evening, with lights in the windows of those small houses, the case gets extra atmosphere. The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours.
