Unveil Brescia’s Hidden Heart. Step into a city where Roman ruins meet Renaissance beauty, as you join Chiara delle Ombre on a quest to uncover her lost love’s resting place and unlock the secrets that time forgot.

A scavenger hunt that uses the streets themselves as its board: Secrets of Brescia runs on your own phone, starts when you say so, and takes exactly as long as you let it.

It works off GPS, so the game knows where you are and hands over that location's riddle, puzzle or photograph. All of it points outward, at Brescia rather than at the phone. The history arrives sideways, through the puzzles, which is why it stays with you.

Via Militare, Palazzino del Governante and Castello di Brescia come up along the way. The stretches between the stops are where most of the looking gets done, at things that are hidden only by being ordinary.

Mirabella (Torre Mirabella) and Torre di Mezzo (Middle Tower) are also on the route, and nobody needs telling twice to examine a doorway.

A Self-Guided Tour of Brescia That Asks the Questions

Think of it as a self-guided walking tour that asks you questions. You get the same thing a walking tour gives you — a route through Brescia and the stories behind what you are looking at — but nobody is talking at you and nobody is waiting for the group to catch up. You walk, you look, and you work things out. The difficulty is intermediate, which in practice means most groups solve most things and argue productively about the rest. Expect riddles, code-breaking and a fair number of photographs you would not otherwise have taken.

Looking for a Scavenger Hunt to Do in Brescia?

This is one, already built. Setting it up is a date and a link: book, open the link, begin when you feel like it. Nothing gets printed, nothing gets hidden beforehand and no list gets written, because the route through Brescia, the riddles and the photo tasks all exist — about two hours over 3 to 4 km on foot. One ticket is €19.95 and covers up to four people on one phone. It is the same evening you were going to spend writing clues, spent walking instead.

An Outdoor Scavenger Hunt That Works for Any Group in Brescia

Adults. Nothing about this resembles a printable list of things to find. It runs at intermediate difficulty, the riddles want things read properly rather than glanced at, and two hours passes without anyone checking their phone for other reasons.

Teams. One ticket covers four people, so a department divides straight into groups running the identical route through Brescia. No host to hire, no venue to reserve, no departure time. Put three or four teams on it together and the competition takes care of itself.

Families. The distance bothers no child, and the photo tasks are where the youngest players get ahead of everyone. The riddles end up being a joint effort, which is exactly why a group of mixed ages works here.

Couples and friends. A self-guided walking tour that does not involve following an umbrella. You set the pace, stop where you want, and end up knowing things about Brescia that most people who live there do not.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Secrets exploration game work?

You book a date, get a link by email. At the starting point in Brescia you open the game on your phone. It is GPS-based: it knows where you are, and each location holds a riddle, a puzzle or a photo task. Solve one and the next location unlocks.

Is this a walking tour or a game?

Both, deliberately. On distance and route it is a walking tour of Brescia; on content it is a puzzle. The history arrives through the riddles rather than through a guide, and there is nobody to follow.

What do we need to bring?

A phone with battery and shoes that handle 3 to 4 km. You get a link when you book and open the game when you get there — no printing, no hiding things in advance, no kit to collect from anyone.

How long does it take?

About two hours, covering 3 to 4 km on foot. There is no time limit and no fixed start — you pick a date when booking and then begin whenever suits you on that date, so a slow group simply takes longer.

How many people can play on one ticket?

Between one and four people share a single phone on one €19.95 ticket. Beyond four, take a second ticket — two groups on the same route can race each other, which is the better way to do it anyway.

Is it hard?

It sits at intermediate. What it asks for is attention and lateral thinking rather than local knowledge, and no riddle is obscure enough to end the afternoon.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes — the 3 to 4 km is no obstacle and the photo tasks are where younger players get ahead. The riddles sit at intermediate, so families tend to solve them as a group, which is the intended way round.

Do we need to book a time slot?

No — only a date. The hour you actually begin is yours, and there is nobody waiting: no meeting point, no guide, no group.

What happens if it rains?

You play when it suits you and stop when it suits you, so a shower just means a coffee. No timer is running, and the route is exactly where you left it.

Will we actually learn something about Brescia?

Yes, and not as a side effect. The riddles are made from the history and the characters of Brescia and from details most people never notice, so the learning is the solving. Anyone who would rather follow a story can take one of the other city games in Brescia.

I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.
