I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

What do you solve during the city walk?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Zagreb is a self-guided murder investigation lasting around 1.5 to 2 hours. The game combines a walk with information for your group to examine on a shared phone. You can explain your theory, ask a question about someone else's idea and work towards an interpretation together. A scavenger hunt Zagreb offers that common focus throughout your outing. It is a reason to engage with your companions as well as follow the route. Without a guide setting the discussion, the people in your team decide how to approach the case and keep each other involved.

Which sights form part of the route?

The walk goes from Zagreb's main square towards Lotrščak Tower and Saint Mark’s Church. The Museum of Broken Relationships is also among the route stops you see while following the investigation. Those places give the detective game a setting in the city. Keep your attention on the surroundings between moments when your group needs to consult the phone. You do not need to rush the conversation simply to get to the next point. The self-guided format lets you set your own pace and share the experience, with the case providing a thread that connects your time on foot together.

What should you know before your group plays?

The price is €19.95 per team: one phone, at most 4 players, and the game uses the free Loquiz app. Choose which phone your team will share and leave around 1.5 to 2 hours for playing. You can start whenever you want, every day, with validity for 12 months. Planning a scavenger hunt Zagreb is therefore a matter of bringing your own small group together at a suitable time. Share the case information rather than keeping it on one person's screen. With everyone able to hear the clues, each player can help the team decide how to continue.
