I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What does the exploration game include?

Secrets of Tongeren is a self-guided walking tour from the Ambiorix statue with puzzles and photo tasks. Along the route you see the Gallo-Roman Museum and Basilica of Our Lady. The game runs in the browser on your own phone without an app. Pick this option if colleagues want to explore while following a shared activity. Take turns reading prompts and discuss the next answer rather than relying on the person holding the device. Photo tasks provide another way to participate alongside solving puzzles. In a team of at most four, each colleague can bring an idea to the conversation and help shape the experience as you walk.

Where does the detective route take you?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Tongeren follows a walking case from the Ambiorix statue to the beguinage. You also pass the Gallo-Roman Museum and Basilica of Our Lady along the route. The game uses the free Loquiz app, with one phone for at most four players. Choose the mystery when your colleagues enjoy discussing a case as the connecting thread of an outing. Read the prompts together and hear different suggestions before agreeing on the next answer. Small teams keep the discussion manageable and give quieter colleagues space to speak. The detective story supplies a common goal while the walk leaves room for conversation between decisions.

What are the group’s practical arrangements?

Either Tongeren game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Form teams of at most four and arrange one phone for each team. They can all begin together and compare their scores after playing.
