I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where do the exploration and detective games go?

Secrets of Bonn starts on the Markt and leads past the Altes Rathaus with puzzles and photo tasks. Your team follows the activity on one phone and decides how to approach each task together. It is a walking option for friends who enjoy noticing their surroundings as they explore.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Bonn gives the outing a detective storyline. You see Remigiusplatz, Münsterplatz and the Beethoven-Denkmal along its route. Both games allow at most four players per team and use the free Loquiz app. Choose the style that fits your group, then arrange teams so everyone can take part in the conversation around the phone.

What can a team of five choose?

The Bonn Syndicate (outdoor escape game) starts on Münsterplatz and follows Magnus and the stolen formulas through the old town. Your walk takes you past Bonner Münster and Sterntor. Teams can contain at most five players, following the story on their own phone with the free Loquiz app.

For a bachelor or bachelorette party, decide whether that team size suits your guest list before booking. Friends can share ideas as the story takes them through the streets, with no guide leading the activity. Keep any rivalry between groups friendly. The outdoor escape format gives everyone a common story to discuss while they walk, making it a clear shared activity at the beginning of the day.

How do we plan our group booking?

A game costs €19.95 per team in Bonn and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Each team uses one phone. Allow no more than four players for either the exploration or detective option, or five for the outdoor escape game, and calculate your party's cost from the number of teams required.

You choose when to begin, on any day, and your booking stays valid for 12 months. That flexibility helps you fit the walk into a stag or hen programme. Settle on the game before assigning friends to teams, then make sure each team has its phone ready. Leave enough time for the activity and agree a start that works for the group.

What app should our teams use?

Can we play as a hen group?
