I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which story can four friends follow together?
Secrets of Cologne asks you to help Johann von Werth reclaim his lost feathered hat. Along the route you see the Obelisk at Breslauer Platz, Hohenzollern Bridge and Museum Ludwig. You play in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed, in teams of at most four.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Cologne gives your group a detective case. The walking route includes St. Gereon, Heinzelmännchenbrunnen and Museum Ludwig. It also allows four players per team, but uses the free Loquiz app. Decide whether the legend or mystery suits your friends, and give each team its own phone to follow the chosen activity.

What is the outdoor escape option for our group?
The Cologne Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas with a team limit of five players. You walk past Alter Markt, Groß St. Martin and Fischmarkt while using the free Loquiz app on your own phone. The activity is self-guided and takes place through the streets.
Choose it for a bachelor or bachelorette party that likes an outdoor chase as a shared opening to the day. Consider the five-player limit when arranging friends into teams. Everyone can bring a different idea to the decisions, even though only one phone is used by each team. Keep the competition friendly and make time for the walking story within the plans you already have.
What will our team booking cover?
A Cologne game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. The team uses one phone, with up to four players for the legend or detective game, or five for the outdoor escape game. Count the teams you need before calculating the activity budget for a larger party.
You may start whenever you want, every day, and your booking is valid for 12 months. Check the phone preparation for your chosen game, since the legend runs in a browser while the other options use an app. Then agree a start with your friends. The self-guided format lets your group organise the beginning of the walk without a guide setting the departure.
