I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Which route follows the detective case?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Dresden leads your team from the Frauenkirche along Brühl’s Terrace to the Zwinger. You investigate on foot at your own pace through the free Loquiz app. Pick this theme if your friends enjoy discussing a mystery as the focus of their outing. Read prompts together and hear different interpretations before agreeing on your next answer. The story gives the route a shared purpose without asking one friend to explain a tour to the others. Between decisions, the walking time creates room for conversation. Your small group can bring different approaches to the investigation while keeping it something you work through together from the start.

How should you arrange the friends into teams?

The Dresden detective game permits at most four players to share one phone per team. Split a larger bachelor or bachelorette group accordingly and decide which device each team will use before gathering. Take turns reading the prompts so the responsibility does not stay with one person throughout the walk. Give quieter friends time to explain suggestions alongside the quick answers. A small team makes that conversation easier to share than a discussion involving the full party at once. You can bring some competitive spirit while keeping the atmosphere sociable. The case supplies the task, and your friends bring the different ideas that make it a shared activity from the beginning.

What are the practical details for friends?

The game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and bookings are valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app and arrange a phone for each team of at most four players. Agree on the team division before friends meet so you can focus on playing when everyone is ready to walk. Leave enough space for the complete activity in your party plans rather than treating it as a brief stop. Friends can then discuss the case without hurrying between other arrangements. After this shared opening challenge, continue with the rest of the day you have organised for your group.

Does everyone need a phone?

No. At most four players share one phone per team.

Which app is required?

The Dresden detective game uses the free Loquiz app.

What is the playing time?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the game.

Can we decide when to begin?

Yes. Start whenever you want, every day, within the booking’s 12-month validity.
