I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Which detective route includes the castle?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Dresden includes Dresden Castle after Kathedrale Sanctissimae Trinitatis, Dresden Transport Museum and Frauenkirche Dresden along its walking route. These places provide a real setting for the fictional case, connecting your castle search with a broader activity your group follows together on foot.

At the castle stop, look around before returning to the game. Your group can enjoy seeing where it arrives while still having a common task to carry onwards. The route supplies destinations, while the murder mystery gives the time between them a shared subject for discussion. Both the actual surroundings and your companions’ ideas can contribute to the experience of exploring Dresden together.

How is the investigation shared between teammates?

At most 4 players share one team on one phone, using the free Loquiz app for the detective game. You investigate a murder mystery on foot in Dresden, keeping the same case available on a shared device. Each teammate can contribute thoughts without following an individual screen.

Make the information part of your conversation before deciding on an approach. Reading aloud, explaining a suggestion and hearing another interpretation can help keep the whole group involved. Couples, friends or colleagues may enjoy thinking differently while investigating one fictional story. Keep choices shared so the person handling the phone supports a common activity rather than making every decision alone during the walk.

What should your group arrange before starting?

The game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and your purchase stays valid for 12 months. Choose a moment that gives the people joining you room for the activity within their Dresden plans.

Keep independent visits to sights separate from the game duration. Before beginning, agree on the phone you will share and confirm the team has at most 4 players. Once you start, give attention to the actual places and your teammates’ ideas alongside the fictional case. Your route connects the destinations, while the group’s discussion helps turn the time between them into an active part of the experience you are sharing together on foot.
