I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which game suits exploration or a detective story?
Secrets of Duisburg starts on Alter Markt and guides you through the old centre with puzzles to solve. The route includes Skulpturenpark Lehmbruck Museum and the Church of Our Saviour. You share a team phone to follow the self-guided activity, discussing your approach as you walk together.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Duisburg puts a murder case at the centre of the outing. Its walk goes from the Rathaus down to the Innenhafen and back. Both choices allow a maximum of four players per team and use the free Loquiz app. Select the storyline your friends prefer, then assign teams and phones before you meet to begin.

How can five friends share an outdoor challenge?
The Duisburg Syndicate (outdoor escape game) accommodates up to five players per team as you follow Magnus and the stolen formulas. You see Alter Markt, Froschkönigbrunnen and Burgplatz along the way. The free Loquiz app carries the story on your own phone while you walk at your team's pace.
For a bachelor or bachelorette celebration, that five-player limit gives you a different way to group your friends. Decide who will share each phone and invite everyone to join the discussion. The activity is self-guided, so your team makes its own decisions during the walk. A light competitive spirit can give the party a shared focus without taking over the whole day's plans.
What should our organiser arrange before the walk?
A Duisburg game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. Each team uses one phone within the selected game's limit: four players for exploration or detective play, five for the outdoor escape story. Budget according to the number of teams needed for your guest list.
You can start on any day whenever you want, and the booking stays valid for 12 months. First choose a game, then organise the teams and their phones. Agree a start with your friends and allow enough time for the walking activity. Since you guide yourselves, there is no guided departure to coordinate with as you fit the challenge into your celebration.
Does a bachelorette group use the same games?
Yes. These self-guided activities suit both bachelor and bachelorette groups playing in small teams.
Where does the detective case take us?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Duisburg goes from the Rathaus down to the Innenhafen and back.
How many people may share one phone?
At most four players share a team phone in the exploration and detective games. The outdoor escape option allows five.
Do we need to install an app?
Yes. Each of these games uses the free Loquiz app.
