I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which route follows the murder mystery?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Nordlingen takes your team from the Marktplatz out to the old town gates inside the walls. Along the walking route you see Baldingen Gate and the Stadtmuseum im Hl.-Geist-Spital. You investigate at your own pace through the free Loquiz app. Pick this game if your friends would enjoy a case as the thread connecting their walk. Read prompts together and hear different interpretations before agreeing on an answer. The story gives the route a shared purpose without one person needing to explain a tour to all the others. Between decisions, the walking time leaves room for conversation while your small group works through the investigation together.

How does the small-team format work?

The Nordlingen detective game permits at most four players on one phone per team. Divide a larger bachelor or bachelorette gathering into suitable teams and decide who brings a device before meeting. Take turns reading the prompts so responsibility does not stay with one person throughout the walk. Give quieter friends time to explain their suggestions alongside the quick answers. A small team makes that conversation easier to share than a discussion involving the full party at once. Bring some competitive energy if your friends enjoy it, while keeping the mood sociable. The case supplies the task, and your teammates bring the different ideas that make it a shared activity from the start.

What needs to be ready before gathering?

The game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and bookings are valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app and arrange a phone for each team of at most four players. Agree on the team division before friends meet so you can focus on playing when everyone is ready to walk. Leave enough space for the complete activity in your party plans rather than treating it as a brief stop. Friends can then discuss the case without hurrying between other arrangements. After this shared opening challenge, continue with the rest of the day you have organised for your group.

Which app is required?

The Nordlingen detective game uses the free Loquiz app.

Does everyone need a phone?

No. At most four players share one phone per team.

How long does the case take?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the game.

Can we choose when to begin?

Yes. Start whenever you want, every day, within the booking’s 12-month validity.
