I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What do friends do on the scavenger hunt?

Secrets of Oldenburg is a self-guided scavenger hunt with riddles, hidden details and stories of the city. It runs in the browser on your own phone without an app. Choose this walk if your friends want an exploratory challenge with a shared purpose. Read the prompts together and compare observations before agreeing on an answer. The hunt gives your walk a focus without asking one person to explain a tour to the rest of the group. You play at your own pace, with room to talk between decisions. Your small team can bring different ideas to the same activity rather than simply follow whoever holds the device throughout the outing.

How should the party share the game?

Secrets of Oldenburg permits at most four players to use one phone per team. Divide a larger bachelor or bachelorette gathering into suitable teams and decide who brings a device before meeting. Take turns reading the prompts so responsibility does not stay with one person throughout the walk. Give quieter friends time to explain suggestions alongside the quick answers. A small team makes the conversation easier to share than a discussion involving the entire party at once. You can bring a competitive spirit while keeping the mood sociable. The riddles supply the task, and your friends bring the different observations and ideas that make the hunt a shared activity from the beginning.

What are the price and timing arrangements?

The hunt costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and your booking is valid for 12 months. Arrange a phone for each team of at most four players and prepare the browser before friends gather. Agree on the team division so you can focus on playing when everyone is ready to walk. Leave enough space for the complete activity in your party plans rather than treating it as a brief stop. Friends can then discuss their ideas without hurrying between other arrangements. After this shared opening challenge, continue with the rest of the stag or hen day you have organised.

Do we need to download an app?

No. Secrets of Oldenburg runs in your phone’s browser without an app.

How many friends share a device?

At most four players share one phone per team.

What is the playing time?

The hunt takes 1.5 to 2 hours.

Can we decide when to begin?

Yes. Start whenever you want, every day, within the booking’s 12-month validity.
