I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What will colleagues do during the Oldenburg game?
Secrets of Oldenburg is a self-guided scavenger hunt where you solve riddles, find hidden details and discover the city’s stories at your own pace. You play in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed. The route gives your small team time outside while the tasks provide something concrete to discuss. Compare different ideas before choosing your response and let colleagues explain what they have noticed. One suggestion can lead to another possibility, making the discussion part of the activity. This keeps the game shared throughout the walk, giving each person a way to contribute alongside teammates rather than leaving everything to the phone holder.

How do several teams of colleagues play together?
Each team uses its own phone and has at most 4 players; all teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Arrange the groups before beginning, perhaps mixing colleagues who do not often work in the same small circle. The riddles give those teammates an immediate common subject. Keep the screen visible and invite different suggestions before answering together. Comparing scores gives the wider group something to discuss afterwards, while shared decisions within each team leave room for everyone during play. The person holding the phone can participate alongside the others, keeping the hunt part of the whole team’s experience throughout the outing.
What should you allow before the hunt begins?
Allow 1.5 to 2 hours and €19.95 per team, with larger groups asking for a group quote on the website. You can start whenever you like, with daily availability and a booking valid for 12 months. No app installation is needed because the game runs in your own phone browser. Settle who plays together and choose a start that lets colleagues gather, then leave enough time in your plans for exploring and discussing the tasks. Once everyone is ready, the hunt supplies a shared activity for the outing. Compare scores afterwards and return to the different details and possibilities your teams considered while playing together.
Do colleagues need an app?
No. Secrets of Oldenburg runs in the browser on your own phone.
How large can each team be?
At most 4 players share one phone per team.
Can all teams begin together?
Yes. All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores.
How do larger work groups arrange the game?
Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. The price is €19.95 per team.
