I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

Which option combines exploring and photo tasks?

Secrets of Jerez De La Frontera brings puzzles and photo tasks to a walk past the cathedral, Real Iglesia De San Dionisio Areopagita and Plaza del Arenal. At most four players share a team phone using the free Loquiz app. You guide yourselves, so friends can contribute observations and ideas as they follow the activity together. Choose exploration when your group wants varied tasks as part of its walk, with everyone joining the discussion rather than relying only on the phone holder.

Where does the detective story lead?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Jerez De La Frontera follows a case from the cathedral past the Alcazar to Plaza del Arenal. You play on your own phone in the free Loquiz app, with a maximum of four players per team. It gives friends a mystery to talk through as they walk at their own pace. A bachelor or bachelorette group can split into several teams if more people are attending. Choose this case when detective work sounds like a shared focus your friends will enjoy.

Can five people share an outdoor chase?

The Jerez De La Frontera Syndicate (outdoor escape game) takes you after Magnus and the stolen formulas from Plaza del Arenal to Alameda Vieja. You also pass Iglesia de San Miguel along the route. It allows at most five players per team, following the outdoor story on one phone in the free Loquiz app. That team size gives you another way to arrange your guests. Let everyone help make decisions and keep rivalry between friends relaxed during this self-guided walking activity through the city.

What practical details should our organiser check?

Each game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Calculate the number of teams using the four-player maximum for exploration or detective play, or five for the outdoor escape story. Arrange one phone per team. You can begin whenever you want on any day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Select a game before assigning friends so your teams match its player limit. Then agree a start and allow enough room for the walk in the celebration's plans.

Can our hen group join the activity?

Yes. A hen or bachelorette group can play in small teams with friendly competition.

Which game offers photo tasks?

Secrets of Jerez De La Frontera combines exploration puzzles and photo tasks during a city walk.

What app do the games use?

All three games use the free Loquiz app on your own team phone.

Is the booking valid for one fixed start?

Your booking is valid for 12 months. You can start whenever you want, every day.
