I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which puzzle routes can your party choose?

Secrets of Istanbul has a Fatih route and an Üsküdar route, both played in the browser on your own phone with no app needed. In Fatih, you see Old Custom House and Ancient Inscription Gate among the named route places. In Üsküdar, the route includes Üsküdar Ferry Terminal and Üsküdar Bosphorus Waterfront. Choose the district before your party starts rather than mixing the two routes into one itinerary. Each offers a self-guided walk with puzzles and photo tasks for your team to share. Read each instruction aloud and invite suggestions, keeping the challenge friendly so everyone has a part in the activity.

What detective alternative is available in Istanbul?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Istanbul offers a fictional detective investigation using the free Loquiz app. One Fatih description leads from Hagia Sophia towards the Grand Bazaar, while another describes a route from Sultanahmet Meydanı past Basilica Cistern towards Süleymaniye. Pick the particular route before gathering teams, keeping its directions separate from the other version. The real religious and cultural places remain distinct from the fictional case, so notice them respectfully. Any independent interior visit needs its own arrangements outside the activity. During the walking investigation, let different players explain an answer before the team decides, instead of leaving the entire case to the phone holder.

How do you plan the activity for a stag or hen group?

The Istanbul games take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team, with at most 4 players sharing one phone. Divide a larger bachelor or bachelorette party into small teams and agree on the same route and access before beginning. That gives the group a common activity while each team compares its own ideas. You can start whenever you want, every day, and your game is valid for 12 months. Leave the walk its own space in the celebration, rather than squeezing the investigation or puzzle tasks between tightly scheduled visits. Make any independent plans for the rest of your day separately from the city game.

Can we pick when to start?

You can start whenever you want, every day. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the chosen game, which is valid for 12 months.
