I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What is the search for Síofra’s ring?

Secrets of Galway invites you to help Síofra recover her lost Claddagh ring. This city game Galway passes The Browne Doorway first, then Lynch's Castle Corner and afterwards Lynch's Castle Plaques. These places accompany the search while the story gives your group a shared objective for the walk.

The exploration runs in your own phone browser, without an app. Allow around 1.5 to 2 hours. You can share the clues with everyone and discuss ideas as you go. The ring provides a focus for the outing, giving you something to work towards together while looking around and following the route at your team's own pace.

Which route follows the detective investigation?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Galway gives your team a detective case using the free Loquiz app. You see Spanish Arch first, then Hall of the Red Earl and afterwards Galway City Museum. These places belong to the investigation, which tells a separate story from the search for Síofra's ring.

The case takes around 1.5 to 2 hours and is played on your own phone. Choose it if your group wants to investigate a murder during the walk. One person can call up clues and read them aloud while everyone offers thoughts. That keeps the investigation a shared activity as you go, rather than leaving the whole task to whoever is holding the phone.

How much does the shared Galway game cost?

Your city game Galway costs €19.95 per team using one phone with at most four players. Both stories allow this team size. Choose who will join you and decide which task you want to share: recovering the ring or investigating the detective case. Your choice determines whether you use the browser or Loquiz.

You can start whenever you like and should reserve around 1.5 to 2 hours. Agree which phone your group will use and who will share the information from the screen. The other players can discuss ideas and notice the surroundings. That connects the story with your walk through Galway, with everyone involved in following the selected task together.
