I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where does the puzzle walk lead?

Secrets of Riga combines a self-guided walking tour with puzzles and photo tasks. This city game Riga passes the Latvian Academy of Music first, then the Latvian National Opera and afterwards St. Peter's Church. These places accompany the route while your team follows the tasks through the game.

You open this exploration in the browser on your own phone, without needing an app. Allow around 1.5 to 2 hours. Choose it if you want your walk to include different kinds of tasks. You can read the instructions together and discuss ideas as you go, keeping the game connected with the places around you and the time you share as a group.

What is different about the detective route?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Riga gives your group a detective case using the free Loquiz app. You see Doma laukums first, then the House of the Black Heads and afterwards the Latvian National Museum of Art. These places belong to the murder mystery's route, separate from the puzzle tour.

Plan around 1.5 to 2 hours and use your own phone. Decide together whether investigating a murder is the task you want to follow during the walk. The phone holder can share the clues while everyone offers thoughts about the case. That makes the investigation something your whole team discusses as you move at your own pace, rather than a task left to just one player.

How do you set up your Riga team?

Your city game Riga costs €19.95 per team with one phone and at most four players. The same team limit applies to both games. Choose who will join you and which story you want to share before you begin. Your choice decides whether you use a browser or the free Loquiz app.

You can start whenever you like and should set aside around 1.5 to 2 hours. Agree which phone the group will use and who will call up the clues. Reading the information aloud lets everyone contribute ideas during the outing. The other players can notice the surroundings and compare thoughts while you follow your selected story, connecting the self-guided walk with a shared task for the team.
