I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

What do you see during the puzzle tour?

Secrets of Bergen Op Zoom combines a self-guided walking tour with puzzles and photo tasks. Your city game Bergen Op Zoom passes Sint-Gertrudiskerk first, then the statue of Anton van Duinkerken and afterwards Ravelijn op den Zoom. These places accompany the route while your team works through the game's tasks together.

You use your own phone with the free Loquiz app and allow around 1.5 to 2 hours. Choose this exploration if you want a walk with different activities to discuss and complete. One person can share the instructions while everyone contributes ideas. That keeps the game part of your conversation as you look around and move through the city at your own pace.

How does the detective route compare?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Bergen Op Zoom turns your walk into a detective case using the free Loquiz app. You see Ravelijn op den Zoom first, then Sint-Gertrudiskerk and afterwards Grote Markt. The investigation is a separate story from the puzzle-and-photo tour, even though some places appear in both descriptions.

Plan around 1.5 to 2 hours and use your own phone. Decide before starting whether investigating a murder is the task your team wants. The player with the phone can read out clues while the others compare thoughts about the information. This keeps everyone involved as you go, making the case a group activity rather than leaving it entirely to whoever holds the screen.

What are the playing conditions for your group?

Your city game Bergen Op Zoom costs €19.95 per team using one phone with at most four players. Both stories allow this team size. Put your group together within that limit and choose whether you want puzzles with photo tasks or the detective mystery. Both options use the same free Loquiz app.

You can start whenever you like and should reserve around 1.5 to 2 hours. Agree which phone your group will share and who will call up the clues. The other players can notice the surroundings and offer ideas during the walk. Sharing the information aloud keeps your self-guided route connected with a task the whole team follows, instead of making the game something only one person sees.

Do I need Loquiz for both stories?

Yes, both games use the free Loquiz app on your own phone.

Which game includes photo tasks?

Secrets of Bergen Op Zoom combines puzzles and photo tasks on its self-guided walk.

Can four people share the game?

Yes. A team has at most four players using one phone.

How long do the routes take to play?

Allow around 1.5 to 2 hours for either game.
