I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where can four-player teams explore or investigate?
Secrets of Dortmund starts on Markt and takes you to St. Reinoldi with puzzles and photo tasks. Colleagues guide themselves on a shared team phone, contributing observations as they approach the activity together. It suits a group that wants varied exploration tasks to shape its walk through the city.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Dortmund follows a case from Platz von Leeds past St Reinold's Church to the Opernhaus. Choose this story when your colleagues prefer a detective mystery to discuss during their walk. Both games use the free Loquiz app and allow at most four players per team. Arrange a device for every team and encourage everyone to offer ideas while one person handles the screen.

Which outdoor escape game accommodates five people?
The Dortmund Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past Alter Markt, St. Reinoldi and Marienkirche. It allows at most five players sharing one phone with the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the streets and take the outdoor story at their team's pace, discussing how to proceed together.
That player limit gives your organiser another way to divide colleagues into small groups. Everyone can contribute while one person holds the phone, making the chase a shared activity. Choose it when your outing needs a common outdoor escape story. Keep rivalry friendly and prepare each team's phone before gathering, so every small group is ready to follow the game from the start.
How do we organise the shared start and budget?
Each Dortmund game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. Count teams within the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape option, and prepare one phone per team. For a larger group, ask for a group quote on the website.
All teams can begin at the same time and compare scores. Choose a story before assigning colleagues so the groups fit its limit, then prepare their phones. You can start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow time for the walk in your outing's plans while each team follows the self-guided activity on its own device.

Can five colleagues share a detective team?
