I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

What does the Max Planck exploration involve?

Secrets of Kiel is a self-guided exploration game with Max Planck, following cryptic clues past the harbour and historic centre. It runs in the browser on your own phone without an app, with at most four players per team. Along the walk you see the City Hall Tower, Kiel Harbor and St. Nikolai Church. The story gives colleagues a shared purpose while they explore. Take turns reading prompts and hear different suggestions before choosing the next answer. A small team keeps the discussion open to everyone rather than leaving the activity with one person. Colleagues can bring different observations into the same challenge as the outing unfolds.

Which game follows Magnus through the streets?

The Kiel Syndicate (outdoor escape game) takes your team from Alter Markt past Nikolaikirche down to Bootshafen in pursuit of Magnus and stolen formulas. You play on foot through the free Loquiz app, with at most five players sharing one phone. This is an outdoor escape game in the streets, offering another story for colleagues to follow together. Read the prompts so everyone can join the discussion and weigh suggestions before deciding on an answer. The team limit differs from the exploration game, so choose your activity before dividing the group. Keep the decisions shared and let each colleague contribute to the chase rather than relying on one quick thinker.

How do you arrange teams and compare scores?

Both Kiel games cost €19.95 per team and take 1.5 to 2 hours. You can start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Arrange a phone for each team: at most four players for the exploration game or five for the outdoor escape game. All teams can start together and compare their scores after playing. Prepare the browser or free Loquiz app for the chosen activity. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. Leave enough space for the full walk in your plans so colleagues can enjoy working together before moving on to other arrangements.
