I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which games suit teams of up to four?

Secrets of Cadiz asks you to help Paco Alba recover the lost copla that carries the carnival's spirit. You pass Balneario de la Palma, Parque Genovés and the plaque for the heroes of 1812. It runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed, for at most four players per team.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Cadiz follows a case from the cathedral square to Torre Tavira and Puerta de Tierra. It also allows four players sharing a phone but uses the free Loquiz app. Choose the story your colleagues prefer, then prepare teams and their devices. Everyone can offer ideas while each team guides itself through the walk.

What can five colleagues choose outdoors?

The Cadiz Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past Plaza Topete, Plaza de la Catedral and Pasaje Arco de la Rosa. It uses the free Loquiz app on one phone and allows at most five players per team. Colleagues guide themselves through the old town and take the story at their own pace.

The five-player limit offers another way for your organiser to divide colleagues into small groups. Everyone can help with decisions around the phone, keeping the outdoor chase a shared activity. Pick this option when its story fits your outing. Keep competition friendly and let different approaches contribute as each team follows the chosen game on its own device.

How do we coordinate a larger group outing?

A game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Count teams within the four-player carnival story and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape game. Every team uses its own phone. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.

All teams can start at the same time and compare scores. Choose the story first, assign colleagues within its limit and check the phone setup. You may begin whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow room for the walk while teams follow the self-guided activity on their own phones.

Can our teams begin together?

Yes. Teams can start at the same time and compare scores, each using its own phone.
