I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Where does the church appear on the route?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Nieuwleusen includes Gereformeerde Kerk after Noorderpark and Ontmoetingskerk in walking order. The wider detective outing leads from Hulsterplas through Noorderpark. These places give the fictional case a real setting, connecting your interest in the church with a broader activity on foot.

Look around respectfully when you reach the church before turning back to the game. Your group can enjoy noticing where it is and still have a common task to continue with afterwards. The route supplies destinations, while the murder mystery gives you something to discuss between them. Both the actual surroundings and your companions’ ideas can contribute to the experience of exploring Nieuwleusen together.

How do you follow the murder mystery together?

You play through the free Loquiz app on your own phone, with at most 4 players in one team. The activity is a detective case on foot in Nieuwleusen, keeping the same investigation available on a single shared device. Each teammate can offer an interpretation without needing an individual screen.

Read the information aloud before agreeing on an approach. You can explain why a suggestion appeals to you and hear what another person thinks of the same detail. Couples, friends or colleagues may enjoy bringing different ways of thinking to one fictional story. Keep decisions shared so the person handling the phone supports the whole group’s activity rather than making every choice alone during the walk.

What should you plan before the outing?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours and €19.95 per team for the game, with flexible starting every day. Your purchase stays valid for 12 months. Choose a playing time when the people joining you have room for the activity within their Nieuwleusen plans.
