I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which route follows the detective case?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Namur leads your team from the TreM.a museum to Place d’Armes and Pont de Jambes. You investigate on foot at your own pace through the free Loquiz app. Choose this activity if your friends would enjoy a mystery as the focus of their walk. Read each prompt together so everyone can follow the case and offer an idea before the team decides. The story gives the route a shared purpose without one friend needing to explain a tour to the others. Between decisions, the walking time leaves room for conversation. Your small group can explore and discuss together rather than simply follow whoever holds the phone.

How do you organise the party into teams?
The Namur detective game allows at most four players to share one phone per team. Split a larger bachelor or bachelorette group accordingly and decide which device each team will use before gathering. Rotate the reading role so one person does not handle every prompt and determine every answer. Invite quieter friends to explain their suggestions alongside hearing the quick answers. The small-team format keeps the discussion manageable and lets each person contribute to the same case. Friendly competition can add energy to the beginning of the day while working together gives your team a common focus. Everyone can help decide the next move as the mystery unfolds during the walk.
What should you prepare before the group meets?
The game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. You can start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app and arrange one phone for each team of at most four players. Settle the team division before friends meet so you can concentrate on the case when everyone is ready to walk. Give the full activity a clear place in your celebration schedule instead of squeezing it between other plans. That leaves room for friends to exchange ideas and enjoy playing together. Afterwards, continue with the rest of the stag or hen day you have organised.
Which app is required?
The Namur detective game uses the free Loquiz app.
