I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which route does the Namur investigation follow?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Namur takes you from the TreM.a museum to Place d’Armes and the Pont de Jambes at your own pace. You investigate on foot using the free Loquiz app. The surroundings provide a setting while the fictional case gives colleagues something concrete to consider. Hear different interpretations of the information before deciding an answer together. Another explanation can add a new possibility to the discussion, keeping the thinking open to everyone’s contribution. This makes the outing an activity the small group shares through both exploring and investigating, rather than leaving every decision to the person holding the phone during play.

How do colleagues play in several small teams?

Use one phone for each team of at most 4 players; all teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Arrange the groups before beginning, perhaps mixing colleagues who do not usually work in the same small circle. The case gives them an immediate common topic. Keep the screen accessible and invite more than one suggestion before responding together. Comparing scores gives the wider group something to talk about afterwards, while sharing decisions within each team keeps the activity sociable. The phone holder can investigate alongside the others, so solving the mystery remains a task for the whole team throughout the walk.

What practical details help you plan the outing?

Plan for 1.5 to 2 hours at €19.95 per team; larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. The game is available daily, you can start whenever you like and your booking is valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app on each team’s phone and settle who plays together before beginning. Choose a start that lets colleagues gather, then give the walk its own space in your plans. That leaves time to explore and discuss possible answers without rushing the case. Once everyone is ready, the investigation supplies a shared task, with scores to compare after the teams have played together.

Which app is used for the case?

Use the free Loquiz app on your own phone.

How large can each team be?

At most 4 players share one phone per team.

Can teams start at the same time?

Yes. All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores.

How do larger groups arrange the game?

Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. The price is €19.95 per team.
