I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What do exploration and detective play offer?
Secrets of Toulon starts on Place de la Cathédrale and leads through the old town with puzzles. You see Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-la-Seds and Le Globe along the route. Friends follow the self-guided activity on a shared phone, contributing ideas as they explore and decide what to do next together.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Toulon gives the outing a detective focus. Its route passes Stade Mayol, Cathédrale de Notre-Dame-de-la-Seds and Opéra de Toulon. Both games allow at most four players per team and use the free Loquiz app. Pick the style your friends want, then organise the teams so each group has its own phone ready for the walk.

How does the five-player outdoor escape game work?
The Toulon Syndicate (outdoor escape game) sends your team after Magnus and the stolen formulas past Cathédrale Sainte-Marie-de-la-Seds, Place Camille Ledeau and Église Saint-Louis. At most five players share one phone using the free Loquiz app. You follow the story through the streets at your own pace, without a guide leading the activity.
The five-player limit can help when organising friends into teams for a bachelor or bachelorette party. Let everyone contribute to the team's decisions while one person handles the screen. A friendly outdoor chase gives the celebration a shared beginning. Decide which friends will play together beforehand and keep the rivalry light as you follow the chosen story.
What time and cost should we allow for the group?
Each Toulon game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Budget for the number of teams required within the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape story. Every team plays on one phone, so a larger guest list needs several bookings and devices.
You may begin on any day whenever you want, and your booking is valid for 12 months. Choose the activity before assigning teams so the player limits fit. Then prepare the phones, agree a start and leave enough time for the walking game in your celebration's plans. These self-guided activities let your friends organise their own beginning and follow the game together.
