I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where does the detective investigation begin?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Munich starts on Marienplatz and follows a case through the centre past the Frauenkirche. You also see Max-Joseph-Platz along the route. Your team investigates on foot through the free Loquiz app. Choose this activity if friends enjoy discussing a mystery as the focus of their walk. Read each prompt together and consider different interpretations before deciding on an answer. The case gives the route a shared purpose without one friend needing to explain a tour to everyone else. Between decisions, the walking time creates room for conversation while your small group works through the investigation together rather than simply following whoever holds the phone.

How should you organise friends into teams?

The Munich detective game allows at most four players to share one phone per team. Split a larger bachelor or bachelorette group accordingly and agree on which device each team will use before gathering. Rotate the reading role so one person does not handle every prompt and choose every answer. Invite quieter friends to explain ideas alongside hearing the quick suggestions. The small-team format keeps the discussion manageable and lets each person contribute to the same case. Friendly competition can add energy to the start of the party day while working together gives your team a common focus. Everyone can help decide the next move as the story unfolds during the walk.

What are the cost and starting details?

The game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. You can start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app and arrange one phone for each team of at most four players. Settle the team division before friends meet so you can concentrate on the case when everyone is ready to walk. Give the full activity a clear place in your celebration schedule instead of squeezing it between other plans. That leaves room for friends to exchange suggestions and enjoy playing together. Afterwards, continue with the rest of the stag or hen day you have organised.
