I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which tour combines exploration and tasks?
Secrets of Zierikzee is a self-guided walking tour with puzzles and photo tasks past the Dikke Toren, Gravensteen and old harbour. You play through the free Loquiz app with at most four people sharing one phone. Choose this option when your friends want an exploratory activity rather than a walk led entirely by one person. Read the prompts together and invite everyone to discuss the next answer. Photo tasks give another way for teammates to join in alongside solving puzzles. For a bachelor or bachelorette group, the game can supply the shared challenge while you concentrate on enjoying the walk and hearing the different ideas your friends bring to it.

What route follows the detective case?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Zierikzee takes your team from the Sint-Lievensmonstertoren to the Oude Haven. Along the walking route you see Cameramuseum Zierikzee and Noordhavenpoort. The detective game uses the free Loquiz app on one phone for at most four players. Pick this theme if your friends would like a mystery to give the outing its focus. Share the reading role and make sure everyone can follow the discussion before choosing the next answer. Small teams allow friends to bring different suggestions without needing the whole party to agree on each move. Keep the rivalry light and let investigating together become part of the fun of starting the celebration.
How can you plan the group’s activity?
Both Zierikzee games take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team. Start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months.
