I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How Halloween fits into life in Doha
Halloween is not a Qatari tradition. In Doha it is mostly celebrated by international families and friends, at home or in small gatherings. Qatar has its own children's evening of going door to door: Garangao, in the middle of Ramadan, when children in traditional clothes sing and collect sweets and nuts from neighbours.
There is also a rich world of folk tales in the Gulf, with jinn and sea stories from the days of pearl diving. We do not invent ghost stories, so on this page you will not find a haunted fort. What you will find is a city that looks very different at night, with lit-up towers across the bay and quiet lanes in the old centre.

Halloween Doha on the Sherlock Holmes route
The Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Doha has a story based on Sherlock Holmes. You question witnesses, solve riddles and photo tasks, and work out who the culprit is. On the way you see the Museum of Islamic Art on its own island by the water, the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque, the old walls of Al Koot Fort and the wide view from the Doha Corniche.
The game takes 1.5–2 hours and costs €19.95 per team: one phone, at most 4 players. It suits friends, couples, families with children who like puzzles, and colleagues looking for a team outing that is not a dinner.

Why play in the evening at the end of October
In late October the heat of summer starts to fade, and an evening walk becomes a pleasure again. Starting around sunset gives you the glow over the Corniche first and the lights of Souq Waqif at the end, a fine setting for the last clue.
