I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Why make the palace part of a city game?
Palazzo Madama is a palace on Piazza Castello in Turin and is passed by the detective and Syndicate games. Look at the building together with its square before continuing your chosen story. A palace gives the outing a different landmark from the churches and museums elsewhere on the routes. The game connects these sightseeing moments with an activity your group can share. You might prefer investigating a murder or following stolen formulas through the streets. Discuss the themes with the people joining you before setting off, so everyone has a common purpose while looking at the city around them.

Which routes connect the palace with other sights?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Turin runs from Palazzo Madama and Piazza Castello towards Piazza San Carlo. You see Piazza San Carlo, then Museo Egizio, Piazza Castello and Piazza Vittorio Veneto along its route. The Turin Syndicate (outdoor escape game) also passes the palace, following Magnus and stolen formulas from Piazza San Carlo past Museo Egizio towards Palazzo Madama. Its route includes Piazza San Carlo before Chiesa di San Carlo, then Chiesa di San Filippo Neri and Piazza Solferino. For another activity, Secrets of Turin offers a self-guided scavenger hunt with riddles, details to find and stories to discover as you explore the city.
How do you fit the game into a group visit?
The Turin games cost €19.95 per team and take 1.5 to 2 hours. Play on one phone with the free Loquiz app. Secrets and Sherlock Holmes allow at most 4 players per team; The Syndicate allows at most 5. Check those limits and the theme before choosing what to share with friends, your partner or colleagues. You can begin whenever you want, every day, and the game stays valid for 12 months. Agree on a convenient time to meet and allow the playing time in your plans. That leaves flexibility to arrange the activity around the rest of your city visit.
