I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does this team building game work?
You split the group into teams of up to 4 people, and each team plays on its own phone, right in the browser. The story is a detective case: there is a victim, there are suspects, and the clues are hidden in the streets of the old town.
It works well for colleagues because everyone has a role. One person reads the clues aloud, another spots details on the buildings, someone takes the photos and someone keeps track of the theories. You have to listen, discuss and decide together, without any forced exercises. It is relaxed, a little competitive and a good way to get to know each other outside work.

Where does the case take you in Hannover?
The investigation leads you through the historic centre. You pass the Aegidienkirche, the Altes Rathaus and the Marktkirche, and the case takes you on to the Ballhofplatz, one of the most charming squares in the old town.
So the team building is also a short walk through the city, for colleagues visiting from elsewhere and for those who walk past these places every day without really looking. The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours, which fits easily before a team lunch, after a meeting or at the end of a conference day.
What does it cost and how do several teams play?
The price is €19.95 per team: one phone and at most 4 players. If you have more people, you simply form more teams, each with its own game.
All teams can start at the same time. Each team moves at its own pace and earns points for its answers, and at the end you compare the scores. You don't need to download an app. For larger groups, you can ask for a group quote on the City Game website, so you know in advance how to organise everyone.
