I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which walks can four-player teams choose?

Secrets of Heidelberg combines puzzles and photo tasks with stories about Marktplatz, the old town and Alte Brücke. Your colleagues guide themselves on a shared phone, contributing observations as they work through the exploration activity. It suits a group that wants varied tasks alongside its walk through the city.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Heidelberg follows a case past Alte Brücke, Marktplatz and Heiliggeistkirche. Choose it when a detective story sounds like the right focus for your colleagues. Both games use the free Loquiz app and allow at most four players per team. Prepare a phone for every team and invite everyone to offer ideas, making decisions shared rather than centred on the screen holder.

What outdoor escape story allows five colleagues?

The Heidelberg Syndicate (outdoor escape game) takes teams after Magnus and the stolen formulas from Universitätsplatz through the old town to Karlsplatz. It allows at most five players sharing one phone with the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the outdoor story and walk at their team's pace, discussing what to do next together.

This player limit offers your organiser another way to arrange colleagues into small groups. Everyone can help make decisions around the team phone, giving different approaches room during the chase. Keep competition friendly and choose this option when an outdoor escape story fits the outing. Each team needs its own phone ready before you gather to begin the chosen activity.

How do we plan the department’s start and budget?

A Heidelberg game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. Calculate the team count within the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape option. Each team uses its own phone. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.

Teams can begin at the same time and compare scores. Choose a story before assigning colleagues so the groups fit its limit, then prepare the phones. You may start on any day whenever you want, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow time for the walk in your outing's plans while teams follow the self-guided activity on their own devices.
