I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What is the Theseus puzzle quest?

Secrets of Athens asks your team to help Theseus recover the lost clew that once led him from the labyrinth. The game runs in the browser on your own phone without an app. Along the walking route you see Syntagma Square, Stoa Emporon and the Metropolitan Church of Athens. The myth-inspired story gives colleagues a common purpose while they explore together. Take turns reading the prompts and consider different suggestions before choosing an answer. In a team of at most four, everyone can contribute rather than leave the whole activity to one person. The quest supplies a shared focus without asking a colleague to devise extra challenges for the walk.

Where does the detective investigation lead?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Athens takes your team from Zappeion Hall past the Temple of Olympian Zeus to the Panathenaic Stadium. You investigate on foot through the free Loquiz app, with at most four players sharing one phone. Choose this case if colleagues would enjoy discussing a mystery as they walk. Read each prompt together and give different ideas a hearing before agreeing on the next answer. The small team makes the conversation easier to share than a discussion involving the whole group. A continuing case gives the activity its thread while walking leaves room for colleagues to talk between the decisions they make together.

How do you arrange the outing for teams?

Both Athens games cost €19.95 per team and take 1.5 to 2 hours. You can start whenever you want, every day, within the booking’s 12-month validity. Form teams of at most four with a phone for each team. They can all begin at the same time and compare their scores afterwards. Prepare the browser for the Theseus quest or the free Loquiz app for the mystery, depending on your choice. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. Give the complete walk enough space in your plans so colleagues can enjoy working together before continuing with other arrangements.
