I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which route frames your Bern investigation?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Bern takes you from the Bundeshaus past the Zytglogge to Münsterplatz and the old town. You follow the case on foot using the free Loquiz app, with the surroundings providing the setting for a fictional mystery. The route gives colleagues time outside while the investigation offers a shared problem. Compare what each teammate makes of the information before choosing your response. Another interpretation can bring a different possibility into the discussion, keeping everyone involved in the thinking. This makes the walk an activity the small group actively shares, with a concrete task to approach alongside one another throughout the outing.

How do you arrange colleagues into detective teams?

Use one phone for each team of at most 4 players; all teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Decide who plays together before beginning, perhaps mixing colleagues who do not normally work in the same small circle. The case gives them an immediate shared topic. Keep the screen accessible and invite more than one explanation before answering together. Comparing scores creates a point of discussion for the wider group afterwards, while sharing decisions within each team leaves room for every person’s contribution. The phone holder can investigate alongside the others rather than having to supply all the ideas during play.

What details help you plan the work outing?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours at €19.95 per team, with larger groups asking for a group quote on the website. The game is available daily, you can start whenever you like and the booking is valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app on each team’s phone and settle the groups before starting. Choose a starting moment that lets colleagues gather, then give the walk its own space in your plans. That leaves time to explore and discuss possible answers without rushing the case. Once everyone is ready, the investigation supplies a shared task, with team scores to compare after you finish playing together.

Which app accompanies the case?

You play with the free Loquiz app on your own phone.

How many colleagues share a team?

At most 4 players use one phone per team.

Can all teams start at once?

Yes. All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores.

What should larger work groups do?

Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. The game costs €19.95 per team.
