I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What can four colleagues explore or investigate?
Secrets of Alkmaar combines puzzles and photo tasks with a walk past Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk and Alkmaar City Hall. It also includes stories about Waagplein. Colleagues guide themselves on a shared phone, contributing observations and discussing how to approach the exploration tasks as they walk together.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Alkmaar follows a case from Canadaplein past Grote Sint-Laurenskerk to De Waag. Choose it when your colleagues prefer investigating a detective story during the outing. Both games use the free Loquiz app and allow at most four players per team. Arrange a device for every team and let everyone suggest ideas, rather than leaving the decisions only to the person handling the screen.

What outdoor escape option accommodates five players?
The Alkmaar Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past Canadaplein, Grote Sint-Laurenskerk and Hofje van Splinter. It allows at most five players sharing one phone with the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the streets and take the story at their team's pace.
This limit gives your organiser another way to arrange colleagues into small groups. Everyone can help make decisions around the phone, keeping the chase shared across the team. Pick the outdoor escape story when it fits the outing you want. Keep rivalry relaxed and make room for different approaches while each small group follows its chosen activity on its own device.
How do we organise the team budget and start?
Each game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Count teams within the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape game. Every team uses its own phone. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.
All teams can start at the same time and compare scores. Choose a story first, assign colleagues within its limit and prepare their devices. You can begin whenever you want, every day, and the booking is valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow room for the walk in your plans while teams follow the self-guided activity on their own phones.
