I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

What does the seaside team activity involve?

Secrets of Katwijk Aan Zee combines a self-guided walk through seaside streets and along the water with puzzles and photo tasks. You play using the free Loquiz app on your own phone. The surroundings provide a setting while the tasks give colleagues something to solve and do together. Ask teammates to explain their suggestions before choosing a response, and let the photo tasks be a shared part of the game too. Different people can contribute ideas in different moments. This keeps the activity open to the whole small group, making the walk something you actively share rather than simply following whoever carries the phone throughout play.

How do you set up several teams of colleagues?

Each team has at most 4 players and uses its own phone; all teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Arrange who plays together before the outing so colleagues know their group when you begin. You could mix people who do not often share a small task, using the puzzles as an immediate common subject. Keep the screen visible and make decisions through discussion. The score comparison gives the wider group a point to return to afterwards, while each small team has room to hear individual ideas during the walk. The phone holder can participate alongside the others without having to direct every answer.

What should the organiser allow before starting?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours at €19.95 per team; larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. You can play daily, start whenever you like and use a booking valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app on the phones your teams will use and choose your starting moment beforehand. Give the walk enough space in the outing plan for exploring, puzzles and photo tasks without rushing the team discussion. Once colleagues are gathered and the groups are settled, the game becomes a clear shared activity. Afterwards, compare scores and talk about the different ideas your teams considered while playing together by the water.
