I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which walk combines puzzles and photos?

Secrets of Volendam is a self-guided walking tour along the harbour boulevard, Markermeer and old lanes with puzzles and photo tasks. It uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone. Choose this tour if colleagues want to explore with different ways to join in. Share the prompts and discuss suggestions before choosing an answer. Photo tasks give teammates another focus alongside solving puzzles. A team of at most four leaves room for quieter observations as well as quick answers. The tour supplies the shared challenge without anyone needing to organise extra tasks at every place or direct the entire walk for the rest of the team.

Where does the detective route take you?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Volendam follows a walking case from the Volendams Museum to the harbour front. Along the route you also see Doolhof and Sint-Vincentiuskerk. You investigate through the free Loquiz app, with one phone shared by at most four players. Pick this theme if colleagues enjoy discussing a mystery as they explore. Read prompts together so everyone can follow the story and offer an idea before the team decides. The small group gives each person a voice without needing all colleagues to settle every move. A continuing case connects the outing while teammates take turns shaping its discussion and the decisions they make together.

What practical details should you arrange?

Both Volendam games cost €19.95 per team and take 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and bookings are valid for 12 months. Arrange teams of at most four, each with its own phone, and prepare the free Loquiz app. All teams can begin at the same time and compare scores after playing. Choose the game before colleagues gather so everyone knows the activity. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. Leave enough space for the full walking challenge in your plans so teams can enjoy solving together before moving on to the rest of your outing arrangements.
