I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which games offer exploration or detective work?

Secrets of Sydney starts at the Archibald Fountain and leads you past St. Mary's Cathedral with puzzles along the way. It suits friends who want to explore through shared tasks on a phone. You guide yourselves, so the group can concentrate on what it notices and how to approach the game together.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Sydney gives the walk a detective focus. Its route includes Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Rocks. Choose that story if your party likes discussing a case as it moves through the city. Both games run in the free Loquiz app and have a maximum of four players per team on one phone.

What is the five-player outdoor option?

The Sydney Syndicate (outdoor escape game) lets up to five players pursue Magnus and the stolen formulas together. The walk goes from Lang Park past St Patrick's Church towards Circular Quay. Your team follows the story on its own phone using the free Loquiz app, without a guide setting the pace.

This is an outdoor escape game played through the streets. For your bachelor or bachelorette group, the extra team place can make arranging friends simpler. Let different people contribute to the decisions while one person handles the phone. The shared challenge gives your party a clear activity to begin with, and you can keep any rivalry between friends relaxed and good-natured throughout the walk.

How can we plan the start and the cost?

Each Sydney game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Allow four people per team for the exploration and detective games, or five for the outdoor escape game. If your guest list is larger, book several teams and arrange a separate phone for each team to use.

You can begin whenever you want, every day, and your booking is valid for 12 months. Choose the game before dividing the party so everyone knows the right team size. Then agree a start that suits the group and leave enough time for the activity in the day's plans. No guide is needed for these self-guided games on your own phones.

Can we include a hen party?

Yes. Bachelor and bachelorette groups can use these games for a shared walking activity with friendly team competition.

Which game begins at the fountain?

Secrets of Sydney starts at the Archibald Fountain and leads past St. Mary's Cathedral.

How many devices does a larger group need?

Each team plays on one phone. Arrange a phone for every team you book.

Can we choose the day later?

Your booking is valid for 12 months, and you can start whenever you want on any day.
