I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Why does The Rocks feel so old and eerie?
The Rocks is where colonial Sydney began in 1788, when the First Fleet arrived with convicts, soldiers and officials. For a long time the area was crowded, poor and rough, with narrow lanes, sailors' pubs and houses built straight onto the sandstone.
You can still feel that history. Cadmans Cottage is one of the oldest buildings left in Sydney, and the Fortune of War calls itself Sydney's oldest pub. Susannah Place is a row of small terrace houses where working families lived for generations. After dark, with the harbour lights behind the old stone walls, it is easy to see why The Rocks has so many ghost stories. A halloween Sydney walk here is history first, and the shivers come by themselves.

How is Halloween celebrated in Sydney?
Halloween in Sydney has become more popular over the years, with costumes, decorated houses and children trick-or-treating in some suburbs. It is still a smaller event than in North America, and many people simply use it as a reason for a night out.
Because Halloween falls in the Australian spring, the evenings are mild and you can stay outside for hours. That makes it a good night for a walk around Circular Quay and The Rocks, when the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House light up against the dark water.
Which City Game fits a Halloween night?
All three of our games in Sydney take 1.5–2 hours and run in the free Loquiz app on one phone per team. The price is €19.95 per team: one phone, at most 4 players.
The Sydney Syndicate (outdoor escape game) suits the dark history best: it is an outdoor alternative to an escape room for 2 to 5 players that leads you past St Patrick's Church, The Australian Heritage Hotel and Susannah Place to Circular Quay. The Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Sydney has a story based on Sherlock Holmes and takes you from the Sydney Opera House to The Rocks and Cadmans Cottage. Secrets of Sydney passes St. Mary's Cathedral and the Anzac Memorial.
